Taking Control of the Future

Daily Post 6 0f 7

mountainclimberStarting off this post with a quote from one of my favorite children’s authors!

“Only you can control your future.”~ Dr Seuss

I’ve got challenges. You’ve got challenges. Everybody has less-than-ideal stuff going on in life. If you’re like me, it’s easy to sit and mope when struggling with a problem. To sit on the couch, eat Nutella, and whine about how the entire world is against you and life is just so unfair.

But consistent pity parties are a pretty pathetic way to handle our struggles, don’t you think?

I can’t always control what happens to me or the people I meet. But I can control how I handle and view each situation that comes my way. Sasha is the one who is in control of whether she stays on the couch moping, or gets up and actively begins looking for a solution. I’m the one who controls if I view the challenge as an impossible mountain, or a glorious opportunity.

Tough things. Unexpected things. Bad things, will most likely happen in life. It’s pretty much a guarantee.

But the outcome? That’s yet to be determined…that depends on you and how you choose carry your heart.

You’ve been given an amazing gift–life. Now, what are you gonna do with it?

Challenge 6: Think of a difficult relationship, situation, or task you’ve been struggling with. What is the Lord’s heart over it? How is He leading you to navigate this opportunity?

Because, whether or not you choose to lean on Jesus during this journey, is another thing that only you can decide.

Blessings,

Sasha
